Russian Academic Drama Theater - Tashkent
The theater's walls can accommodate six hundred spectators. It is located in the heart of the city and is conveniently accessible to all who wish to visit. To purchase tickets for good seats, we recommend booking them in advance. All performances are in Russian. The plays are adapted from both Russian and Western authors. The theater's repertoire is rich in comedies, for example, you will find it interesting to see the comedy "Weekend" by J. Poiret, "Husband on Credit" by M. Zadornov and other works. Based on Eastern poetry, the play "Secret of the Chinese" was staged based on the work of Alisher Navoi. The repertoire based on classical literary works is presented in the plays "The Mistress" by Carlo Goldoni and "Playing Gogol" (a fresh interpretation of the play "Marriage"), which is sometimes perceived ambiguously by the audience.
The majority of the theater's repertoire is designed for a wide audience. The unforgettable impressions from what you see are due to the professional performance of all the actors in the troupe, extraordinary scenery and effective costumes, as well as accompaniment. The theater was founded in 1934, and in 1967 it received the status of Academic. The new theater building was ceremoniously opened to visitors in February 2001.
